In the name of health, Rhode Island's Gabe Amo spend all his "ammo" attacking RFK Jr., the science RFK Jr. promotes, and publc health. HIs pro-big Pharma letter
shows how our congress is being run in all too many cases by the pharmaceutical industry and its sponsors. See the letter below and my response to it.

Dear Representative Amo:
I would like to respond to some of what you wrote in your letter dated July30, 2025
“I stand firmly against Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s reckless actions undermining science-based vaccine policy and have called on him to resign.” I can’t imagine a position showing poorer judgment on your part. Your statement is as reckless as reckless can be when you call RFK Jr.’s actions “reckless”. He knows the science on vaccinations far better than you do, and you should defer to his expertise. He has litigated on this and other public health issues for over 30 years.
“Despite overwhelming evidence demonstrating the safety and effectiveness of vaccines, Secretary Kennedy consistently spouts anti-vaccine rhetoric.” This is complete and utter nonsense, Representative Amo, and it is easily verifiable that RFK Jr. has repeatedly stated his aim is to make vaccine policy more consistent with top notch science. The word you chose “overwhelming” to describe the safety and efficacy data of vaccines would best be replaced by “underwhelming”.
“In June 2025, Secretary Kennedy fired all 17 well-respected medical professionals and public health experts who served as members of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). This committee was vital in advising the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on vaccine policy. Secretary Kennedy chose to appoint inexperienced, partisan, dangerous vaccine skeptics.” What a pack of lies, Representative Amo. You disgrace yourself with such rank propaganda. He picked some of the top vaccine scientists in the country who have a track record of impeccable integrity, replacing members who had conflicts of interests by virtue of affiliation with big Pharma. Don’t think for a second your constituency is fooled by your lies. I will be sure to unveil your dishonesty to those who have not yet observed it. Martin Kuldorff, Retsef Levi, Robert Malone, Vicky Pebsworth, Cynthia Nevison, and Mark Blaxill are top notch scientists and vaccine experts of the highest level of integrity. Calling the “anti-vaxxers” only shows that you have no valid objection, and must resort to mud-slinging to try to oppose their honest efforts in behalf of the American people.
“In recent months, ACIP changed long-standing vaccine guidelines for children and voted to weaken guidance for the COVID-19 vaccine. In November 2025, President Donald Trump appointed the vaccine-skeptic Dr. Ralph Lee Abraham as the Principal Deputy Director at the CDC to advance the destruction of our public health infrastructure.” We have finally had a person willing to stand up for science based vaccination and you, Representative Amo have nothing to say but to insult him and Dr. Abraham, who are willing to go against those who have been bought out by powerful interest groups to stand for what’s right. This is yet another disgraceful default to slandering others in order to get people to agree with you, Representative Amo. Such base rhetoric has never worked in the past and it will not work this time either. The vaccine schedule is being reexamined to bring it into alignment with current science, something which you, Representative Amo, evidently oppose. Abraham is another voice of integrity fighting the Pharma-funded opposition to honest science in vaccines. Criticizing him only shows your own lack of integrity.
“In December 2025, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced new requirements making it more difficult for vaccines to get approval. Secretary Kennedy continues to sow doubt about the efficacy and safety of vaccines with his words and actions, putting the American people’s health on the line.” Representative Amo, it is YOU who put the American people’s health on the line. Apparently, you are one of the last people in Rhode Island to understand this about yourself. Vaccines should be difficult to approve because they are medical interventions given to HEALTHY individuals. Safety and efficacy is always important, but when people have no immediate need for an intervention, its downstream benefits must be unequivocally demonstrated. This accords with the Hippocratic Principle of “Do No Harm” - a principle you are clearly unacquainted with.
“Science-based public health policies keep the American people safe. The FDA has an extensive and rigorous process to ensure vaccines remain safe, effective, and available. To push back against Trump’s reckless anti-science policies, Rhode Island joined the Northeast Public Health Collaborative, a partnership of northeastern 10 states and New York City dedicated to protecting public health and ensuring access to vaccines in our region.” Science-based public health policy is precisely what RFK Jr. is promoting. By calling them “Trump’s” reckless anti-science policies you clearly are double-dipping on the anti-Trump political zeitgeist of Rhode Island rather than sticking to the science and facts which invalidate your claims about what RFK’s vaccine policy changes are accomplishing , which is improvement in the health of all Americans.
In Congress, I am fighting Secretary Kennedy’s attempts to undermine our public health system. One June 10, 2025, I joined my colleagues in demanding that Secretary Kennedy reinstate all 17 members of ACIP, oppose his misguided firings at HHS, and urged ACIP to reverse its changes to long-standing vaccine recommendations. Representative Amo, you want to make yourself out as some kind of hero fighting against Secretary Kennedy and his supposedly misguided efforts to undermine public health when it could not be clear that YOU YOURSELF are an obstacle to public health by opposing Kennedy’s initiatives.
Representative Gabe Amo, it could not be clear who your alliances are with, and that you are lying about them. I will do everything in my power to expose your disingenuousness to the people of Rhode Island, although I suspect many of them already see through your vacuous rhetoric, and lame efforts to appeal to high principles, which only betray you for who you really are - a mountebank who puts his own personal interests above the health of his constituents. For shame, Representative Amo.
Your highly displeased constituent, who is appealing to you to please do better,
Mark Brody
